Celebrity Chef Marlon Alexander grew up in Broad Ripple Village in Indianapolis, Indiana. With its diverse street life, quaint boutiques and hot nightspot, it was easy to see where the culinary bug came from. He discovered cooking at a very young age. He trained at The Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program in Pasadena, California and from there went to Le Parc Suite Hotel, West Hollywood as Chef de Cuisine and The Hotel Bel-Air as The Banquet Chef, obtaining the prestigious Mobile Five Star and the AAA Five Diamond Award and Los Angeles’' most respected establishments. He has become a local celebrity among the who’'s who in Hollywood. His style of cooking is all-natural, great tasting and healthy, combining Classic French with Southern that redefines neo-soul. His charismatic demeanor and his ability to produce award-winning cuisine have earned him the respect and attention which seems appropriate for this future famed Chef, who definitely puts soul into everything he creates.Impressing the likes of Stevie Wonder, KISS, Eddie Murphy, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith and other famous dinner guests caused great demand for Chef Marlon to service private catering parties for celebrities and VIPs in Los Angeles. In 2007, he started BupyStyle Events, his Catering and Event consulting company for his loyal patrons. In 2008, he added private chef to his credits by working for a member of the royal family in Kuwait for two years.Chef Alexander only works with organic farmers in and around the Southern California area, and has a strong belief in all-natural great tasting food. He has his own inimitable style of cooking, developed to tantalize any palate. As a personal chef in the Los Angeles area, his goal is to provide convenient, stress-free and delicious cuisine directly to your home. Because each client has different needs, he will work with you to create a custom plan that suits you and your busy schedule. BAYFEST: Rockers chow down on ... organic beans?By TARA JEFFREY, The ObserverUpdated 4 months agoWhen you're setting the table for one of the world's biggest rock bands, you have to be prepared for anything.Just ask Marlon Alexander, chef to the stars, including KISS, who rolled through Sarnia Wednesday night to satisfy some big appetites."You never know how many people you're feeding," said Alexander, under his makeshift kitchen tent backstage at Centennial Park. "It could just be the four guys, or it could be 25."That number morphed to about 100 people when KISS and its massive production crew arrived in Sarnia.With the help of local chef and veteran Bayfest cook Alastair Mackay, Alexander prepared some staples from the group's strict organic diet a far cry from their flamboyant onstage persona."Everything is always very organic and very healthy, so we try to stick with lots of vegetables, and lots of fish," he said, while preparing wild seared salmon on a bed of white beans and veggies, topped with a dill vinaigrette, with fresh fruit juice.Dessert included a wild berry crumb with mango and crystalized brown sugar.In 2009, during KISS's first Bayfest visit, a massive continental breakfast was prepared for crew members, while the band members dined on steamed veggies, chicken and fish.The job certainly has its perks, said Alexander, who also works for big names like Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z. He just returned from a tour with Britney Spears."It's a lot of travel, but these guys are my main clients," he said of KISS members Gene Simmons, Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley."Sometimes I'll think I'll be going out of town for like, a month, and it turns into seven months."So it's always changing, and it keeps things fresh. I do love the job, and I still love the cooking."

Today almost everyone is leading a busy lifestyle but strive to eat healthy. Long workdays leaves no time to prepare wholesome, healthy meals. With BupyStyle Events, having no time to cook or unable to cook is no longer a problem. We will pamper you with freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals, conveniently delivered to your Los Angeles area home or office weekly. It's like having your own personal chef. Your meals are prepared to include your personal preferences and exclude your dislikes.Falafel SlidersBy Chef Marlon AlexanderIngredients2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil2 green onions, chopped3/4 cup mushrooms, chopped3/4 cup diced fresh mint3 cloves garlic, chopped1 (15.5 ounce) can garbanzo beans, with liquid1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley1 1/2 tablespoons curry powder1/2 teaspoon ground cumin1/2 cup dry bread crumbs2 egg whitesDirectionsHeat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add green onions, mushrooms and mint, and saute until tender, stirring frequently.Combine the garbanzo beans (with liquid) and garlic in the container of a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, and transfer to a medium bowl. Stir in the mushrooms and onions. Mix in the cilantro, parsley, curry powder and cumin. Add the bread crumbs and egg whites, and mix until thoroughly blended. You can let the mixture sit in the refrigerator to blend flavors at this point, or go on to frying.Heat enough oil to cover the bottom of a large skillet over medium heat. Form the bean mixture into 4 balls, and flatten into patties. Place the burgers in the hot skillet, and fry for about 5 minutes on each side, until nicely browned.

first meetingOur initial meeting will be an opportunity for me to learn more about you and your family, the types of food you like/dislike, and any possible dietary/allergenic restrictions. We will also discuss which type of service would suit your schedule and your family best. This initial assessment will provide me with information necessary to make delicious meals you and your family will love. We'll talk about how often you would like the service and how much food will be appropriate. I'm able to come every week for a fresh service or less often and provide fresh-frozen meals.
the cook dateI will shop for all the groceries the day of your service, choosing the freshest produce and highest quality ingredients available within our budget. I'll come to your home with my equipment, prepare the meals, package and label them, leave them neatly in your fridge or freezer, and do all the cleanup. The only things left are instructions for heating and the delicious aroma of home cooked food!
